IESL is now a Provisional Signatory to the Sydney Accord |

At the closed session of the signatories of the Sydney Accord held on June 21, 2017 in Alaska , USA as a part of the meetings of the International Engineering Alliance , the IESL was admitted as a provisional signatory to the Accord marking another milestone in the IESL’s quest for global recognition as the accrediting body for engineering and engineering technology degree programmes conducted in Sri Lanka.

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) cover a broad application range which includes monitoring of environment, healthcare, industrial, etc. In environmental monitoring, conditions such as temperature and pressure are measured and cooperatively passed through the network nodes to a central location. Wireless Sensor Network for Oceanographic Monitoring (WSNOM) is a particular instance of an environmental monitoring application.

June 30th marked another milestone of the infrastructure developments happening at IESL Secretariat Premises. The long outstanding project, the Construction of new wash room complex and changing rooms was successfully completed within twelve weeks’ time. This wash room complex will cater the increasing demand for next decade.

A team of Engineers with Chairman of YMS Eng. Dayan Herath visited Bulathsinghala flooded area on 8th June 2017 and selected the school in which the property and infrastructure was highly damaged due to flood. Welgama Kanishta Vidyalaya is a rural and remote school which is having 153 students and 15 teachers. The school consists 5 buildings in which they conduct classes from grade 01 up to Grade 11.
