Author Guidelines

Submission Guidelines 

• Abstracts/ Full Papers should be submitted through the CMT link. 
• Initial Stage you are requested to submit the abstract. You can also submit the full paper if it is done. 
• All submitted abstracts/ papers will be reviewed by the editorial team. 
• All accepted Full papers must be presented in the Oral Sessions of the IESL Annual Sessions. Only presented papers will be published in the conference proceedings with ISSN.
• The submissions through the designated CMT link will only be accepted, and submissions through other methods will not be accommodated.
• During the submission, follow the instructions provided in the CMT link and fill it out accordingly.
• If submitting only one paper, rename the document with corresponding Author’s Name with Initials. If multiple papers are submited, renmae with a number Ex: 1,2,3,etc at the end of the file name. 
• Include the corresponding author details correctly. (valid email is a Must)

Eng Dr. A.C. Visvalingam Annual Award - Notice

Eng. Dr. A.C. Visvalingam   Annual   Award For Most Outstanding Engineer – 2025

A very generous contribution made by Eng. Dr. A. C. Visvalingam has enabled IESL to award an attractive prize for the most outstanding Engineer annually.

Eng. Dr. A.C. Visvalingam, an exemplary Structural and Civil Engineer and an Honorary Life Member of IESL, a visionary himself, was anxious to make such an award having recognized the need for the professional enhancement of engineers to the benefit of the society and country.

This award will be made annually to a suitable professional engineer under stipulated rules and guidelines to a candidate of exemplary commitment with aptitudes and qualities as stated below.

The proposed Award will recognize an outstanding Engineer who has shown “exemplary commitment” in engineering and who has contributed to Sri Lankan society (and/or globally) through Engineering practice, innovations, resourcefulness, good governance, commitment to health, safety, and environmental sustainability, while always adhering to good ethical practices.

This Award will be presented at the inauguration ceremony of the IESL Annual Sessions to one living Engineer, once in a life time and will carry a cash award. Council shall decide the amount of the cash award as specified in the agreement with the donor.

The application forms along with rules and guidelines can be obtained from IESL Secretariat from 12 noon 02nd May 2025, to 16.00hr 22nd May 2025 or downloaded from the IESL website. The closing date for submission of application forms and relevant documents will be 15.00hr  30th May 2025.   Information on the award will appear time and again in the IESL website, and in print and electronic media.

Calling Applications/Nominations for Eng. (Dr.) A C Visvalingam Annual Award

Engineering has been an integral part of our lives since ancient civilizations. Through the industrial revolutions, engineering has taken us to the future on a much more speedy path . Throughout the  history inventions and innovations made by engineering giants have changed the tides of civilization. Sri Lanka, with a proud engineering history and heritage, has recognized and honored contemporary engineering geniuses of the past, who have contributed in their fields of expertise  to uplift the needs of society, economized  resources, and thus provided an overall benefit to the country.

The IESL having recognized the importance of such engineers,  seeks  to identify engineers of today, who have excelled in their duties with superior skill and integrity on behalf of their employers and clients, while contributing constructively in a tangible manner to the betterment of the country and the profession. 

To recognise and acknowledge their contribution to the society, the IESL has introduced an award in the name of Eng. (Dr.) A C Visvalingam, who initiated and sponsored this award to be made annually, with an attractive prize for the “most outstanding engineer”.

The proposed Award will recognize an outstanding Engineer with “exemplary commitment” and who has contributed to Sri Lanka through attributes and ingenuity in Engineering practice, such as innovations, resourcefulness, good governance, commitment to health, safety, and environmental sustainability, while always adhering to good ethical practices.

Eng. (Dr.) A C Visvalingam, an Honorary Life Member of the IESL, Structural and Civil Engineer of international repute, a visionary himself, was anxious to make such an award, having recognized the need for the professional enhancement of engineers to the benefit of the society and country.

This once in a life time award will be presented at the inauguration ceremony of the IESL Annual Sessions to an Engineer. Posthumous awards shall not be made.

The starting date for submitting applications and relevant documents is 1200 hr. 9th May 2025 and the closing date is 15.00hr  30th May 2025.

Visvalingam Annual Award can currently be downloaded from the IESL Website (www.iesl.lk) so that, the prospective candidates/applicants who satisfy the qualifications stipulated in the guidelines have sufficient time to prepare their applications during the aforesaid period.
