IESL Vadakkin Chapter Resolutions 2026

By PUBLICITY DIVISION (IESL)

The year 2026 marks a deliberate shift for the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka – Vadakkin Chapter (IESL VC): from routine programming to focused action that delivers measurable value to both the profession and society. With priority activities already planned, the Chapter is committed to outcomes that strengthen engineers, support communities, and enhance professional standards across the Northern Province.

A flagship initiative for the year is the Model Village project, through which multidisciplinary engineering expertise will be applied to address real community challenges such as drainage, water supply, sanitation, basic infrastructure, and sustainability. Complementing this, the Helping Hand initiative will continue as a structured mechanism to support students, engineers, and vulnerable communities through educational, medical, and emergency assistance. The introduction of Engineering Clinics will further extend the Chapter’s service by providing free technical guidance to the public.

Recognising a critical need among members, the Vadakkin Chapter will place strong emphasis on structured support for the Professional Review (PR) process. Planned activities include PR awareness sessions, documentation guidance workshops, mock interviews, mentoring by senior engineers, and peer-review support aimed at improving success rates and confidence among eligible candidates.

All activities will be delivered through the Chapter and its active District Centres in Kilinochchi, Mannar, and Vavuniya, ensuring wider reach, inclusivity, and district-level engagement.

While CPDs, technical talks, JIY, and Techno participation will continue, 2026 is defined by engineering with purpose, professionalism, and accountability, turning plans into action and commitment into impact.
