Eng. (Dr.) Jagath Peiris has been appointed as the CEO / Executive Secretary at the IESL Secretariat and will take over duties with effect from 1st January, 2016.

Eng. (Dr.) Jagath Peiris obtained his BSc Eng. (Mech./ Prod.) from the University of Peradeniya and his Doctorate in Business Administration from the USA. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Chartered Manager (UK), a Chartered Marketer (UK) and a Chartered Management Accountant (UK). He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka and also has Corporate Membership from the Institution of Engineering & Technology (UK) as well as the Institution of Plant Engineers (UK).

He brings in a wealth of experience from the private sector, having served in the past as the Chairman/ Managing Director - Royal Fernwood Porcelain Limited, Managing Director - Lanka Ceramic PLC, Managing Director - Dankotuwa Porcelain PLC and Works Manager - Brown & Co., Limited. He is the current non-Executive Chairman of National Institute of Exports and a Past President of the National Chamber of Exporters Sri Lanka. He was also the recipient of the Sri Lankan Entrepreneur of the Year Award (2003) and the Business Leader of the Year Award (2005).
