Time has come to say good bye to 2015. We are at the dawn of another new year. When I was searching for good verses about New Year, I found the following verse composed by Taylor Addison. It really covers the general life of a human that comes with a mix of laughter and joy in addition to the hard work, but why not we consider it as appropriately written for engineers.

We all had our different experiences in 2015, with the different knowledge we gained from them. We, as engineers, have made several efforts to bring betterment to the lives of the general public and those attitudes have to be persistent throughout in the future too.

“Time for New Beginnings. . . . . . . . . . . Taylor Addison, Blue Mountain Arts, 1989

This is a time for reflection as well as celebration.

As you look back on the past year and all that has taken place in your life.

Remember each experience for the good that has come of it and for the knowledge you have gained.

Remember the efforts you have made and the goals you have reached.

Remember the love you have shared and the happiness you have brought.

Remember the laughter, the joy, the hard work, and the tears.

And as you reflect on the past year, also be thinking of the new one to come.

Because most importantly, this is a time of new beginnings and the celebration of life.”

Recently, I witnessed the AGM and the Annual Sessions of the Wayamba Chapter of IESL. I was thoroughly impressed by the organizing of such an event with a proud emblem to engineering profession.  I have no doubts that the other chapters too are bringing glory to IESL and the engineering profession. While congratulating all those who were successful in 2015, I sincerely value and appreciate the honorary work carried out by the Chapters. As I have mentioned in the previous editorials, please report to us your work, definitely those will be published in the newsletter.

I wish all our readers happy new year 2016!
