Sinhala and Tamil New Year 2026

The Sinhala and Tamil New Year celebration of the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL) was successfully held on 25th April 2026 at the Royal College Primary Grounds, bringing together members and their families for a day of cultural festivities and fellowship.


The event was graced by the President of IESL as the Chief Guest, whose presence added significance to the occasion. The celebration was jointly organized by the Civil Engineering Sectional Committee and the Women Engineers Forum, reflecting a collaborative effort to foster unity and engagement within the engineering community.


The grounds came alive with a vibrant display of traditional New Year games, creating an atmosphere of joy and nostalgia. Members, along with their families, enthusiastically participated in a variety of customary activities, strengthening bonds and celebrating Sri Lankan heritage.




The event also provided an excellent opportunity for networking and relaxation outside the professional environment, reinforcing the sense of community within IESL.
