Basic house keeping tasks within the Membership Management System

Dear Colleague,

I want to bring your attention to few basic house keeping tasks within the Membership Management System (Wild Apricot) that YOU should complete for YOUR benefit. The President sent reminder emails more than once. Yet, many of you have not done your part.

Please, help us to help you and others. It will only take less than 10 min.

Please update YOUR profiles as it would help the Secretariat Staff, various Committees, Provincial Centers, Chapters, etc. to manage communications with you. The advantage to you is that, you will not get unnecessary emails. At least responsible people can filter you in or out appropriately. Please complete, at least the following fields in your profile (Login > Member Self Service > Edit Profile - Don't forget to save ):

1 Member's Contact Information: Mobile Phone, Full Postal Address including the country
2 Member's IESL Related Information: Member Discipline 1 (the engineering field under which you became a member of any sort), Affiliated IESL Provincial Center or the Overseas Chapter (that is most convenient for you to go to), Affiliated IESL Regional Center (if you are member closer to some of the newly established regional centers to further help you)
3 Personal Information: at least the profile picture (upload) so your long lost friends can recognize you faster and communicate with you. Also useful for professional activities that you may peruse through networking among colleagues.

Having said that, we encourage you to fully complete the sections on "Educational Information" and "Professional Information" as all of that bring you lot closer to the IESL community and allow us to selectively communicate with you.

Last but not least, when you visit the profile, if you see a message to pay membership fees for the year 2013 (Invoices and Payments) , please do so using the online or off line facilities. If you do not pay on or before November 30th of 2013, your membership will lapse and you will be automatically removed from the membership database.

For any questions please contact the Membership Department, Ms. Nimesha Sewwandi.

How can you contribute:

1 Use Forums and don't forget to "subscribe" to your favorite forums once you are in one of them. Email updates will come automatically at a frequency you setup.
2 Contribute to "SLEN Blog" or submit articles to future Digital SLENs (checkout the icon in this news letter)
3 Post jobs to the special forum "Job Postings" (accessible once you go to the Member page, under Quick Links). You can also post a request for a job!
4 Upload your photos from the field ( read the instructions beneath the Home Page photo slider)

The system has plenty of features, but what you do with them will define the benefits.

Warm Regards

Arjuna Manamperi
