Chairmen / Secretaries of Chapters, Committees, Forums,

You have better reach than anyone to your members. Help convey my message and engage them with this IESL activity.

PRESIDENT, IESL

IESL NSW Chapter

Dear fellow engineers,

Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka has made an important arrangement with “Sunday Times” ( Sri Lanka ) newspaper to publish articles related to engineering issues on regular basis.

This is a very good initiative from the IESL as it comes at a critical time where not adhering to engineering principles and standards are being exposed resulting catastrophic incidents, fatalities and embarrassing situations in Sri Lanka.

Therefore as IESL NSW Chapter, we invite our engineers to contribute to this important initiative by expressing your views as professionals to better inform the public about importance of following scientific methodologies in problem solving. Your views and ideas could result in significant improvements in quality of life of Sri Lankan citizens.

Please see below the full message received from the IESL President Eng. Jayavilal Meegoda. We will provide further instructions about the guidelines to follow when writing an article.

If you can share such articles with our Chapter, we can include them on our publications as well.

With best regards,

Eng. Rohitha Silva
Chapter Secretary, IESL NSW Chapter

Members contributing articles have the chance of seeing their works published in this leading newspaper. Articles should meet the required standard of English and not exceed 800 words. The articles must be able to create awareness among the general public on possible engineering solutions to current issues experienced in the country.

Selected articles from those that get published in the “The Sunday Times” will be entitled to Rs 10,000/= worth of vouchers to follow CPD courses conducted by IESL.

Please send your articles addressed to; The Manager Publicity, Email Address;dir.pub@iesl.lk . For further clarifications please contact Mr. Jiffry Farzandh on Mobile Phone No. 071 109 4393.
