Unveiling the Portrait of Eng. Dr. Kamal Laksiri

In a dignified ceremony held on Friday, 5th September 2024, the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL) paid tribute to one of its esteemed leaders, Eng. Dr. Kamal Laksiri, by unveiling his portrait at the IESL headquarters. The event, which took place at around 4:30 p.m., was attended by a distinguished gathering of Past Presidents, Council Members, and other notable figures in the engineering fraternity.
Eng. Prof. Ranjith Dissanayake, the current President of IESL, had the honor of unveiling the portrait of Eng. Dr. Laksiri, who had served as President of the institution during his tenure. In his address to the audience, Prof. Dissanayake spoke warmly of Dr. Laksiri’s contributions to the engineering profession and to the IESL, noting his visionary leadership and commitment to elevating the standards of engineering practice in Sri Lanka.
“Eng. Dr. Kamal Laksiri was not only a leader but also a mentor to many. His efforts to enhance the professionalism of engineers, improve educational standards, and foster innovation within the engineering community have left a lasting legacy. This portrait is a small yet significant tribute to his enduring impact on our institution,” said Prof. Dissanayake.

Eng.
