VALUE: Grow professionally / personally at your convenience (place & time), with a reasonable investment through IESL Digital Learning Academy (DLA) courses.
INITIATIVE: With hopes of our members embracing digital learning, IESL CPDC will begin rolling out its digital courses to membership, this week.
CONTENT: Some of the courses are fully developed with IESL resources as we do with traditional class room based CPD courses and some are carefully selected by CPDC through a review process of third party digital courses (especially, none engineering subjects).
DELIVERY: Some courses will be delivered on a MOOC platform as pre recorded lectures and some will be live streamed. In either case students will be able to exchange ideas in a forum, ask questions, take exams, provide feedback and obtain CPD certificates. 3G or better internet connection and any device (smart phone, tab, laptop, desktop) is all you need.
MISSION: As the Chairperson of IESL CPDC, I strongly believe IESL must be able to take CPD to thousands of our engineers any time any where, with multitude of subjects. IESL DLA will reduce O/H and miscellaneous costs (meals, your transport, space, your time, etc). It will also overcome the space constraints at IESL or its PCs. Our plan is to expand offerings with your feedback and technology partners.
APPEAL: Please try digital learning and give constructive input to take this valuable tool to the citizens of Sri Lanka at some point in the future. Our costs will reduce as the number of participants increase. Let’s share ‘good things in life’, repeatedly.
