The Stone Sculpture technology in ancient Sri Lanka, as used in sculpting the tallest free standing Buddha statue in South East Asia, the Maligawila Buddha statue and the nearby Dambegoda Buddha statue have been discovered to have used Critical Limited Stability, as a technique, in creating those great engineering feats.
