As a result of hard work and perseverance of our engineers for a duration lasting more than two decades and with the support given by Hon. Minister Patalee Champika Ranawaka who is also a qualified engineer and a few other politicians, the Engineering Council Act was passed by the Parliament of Sri Lanka in the year 2017. Thereafter the Engineering Council of Sri Lanka Act, No 4 of 2017 was gazetted in March last year, and the Council will be established within a short period in order to regularize the practice of engineering.
