The next few weeks are very busy in IESL calendar. We just concluded a successful Induction and Graduation Ceremony in grand scale. The National Engineering Conference is organized under the theme of “Engineering -The digital Economy” at cinnamon Grand Hotel on 22nd September. The premier technology exhibition organized by IESL - “Techno 2017” will be held at BMICH from 13th to 15th of October in grand Scale.

When I look out from my office window, I can have a marvelous view of the gigantic Lotus Tower ( Nelum Kuluna) which is at the final stages of its completion. It’s going to be an Iconic structure in Colombo which will attract local and international tourists. One of the main objectives of The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) , who spearheaded the project was to use the lotus tower as a transmission hub for broadcasters.

Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy, Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Vidya Jyothi Eng. (Prof.) KKYW Perera, Chancellor of the University of Moratuwa was the Guest of Honour at the event.

In this devastating time, IESL Qatar Chapter members and the management committee has come forward and collected a sum of about half a million rupees to aid few damaged schools.
