Dear Corporate Member,

UPDATING CONTACT DETAILS AND VOTING PREFERENCE FOR IESL ELECTIONS - 2021

1. IESL Council has amended the voting procedure for electing members to the Council with effect from year 2021 in order to gain maximum advantage of the technology advancements, reduce the administrative difficulties/ cost and introduce more user-friendly/ convenient voting method.

2. As per this new Council approved election rules, the Voting duration is restricted to Two (02) week periodstarting from a Friday. Prior to calling for nomination for election, each eligible voter will be given an option for voting; either electronic voting or paper voting (only one option).

3. Voting facilities shall be provided for each voter in the following manner:

a. Overseas voters:

Overseas members will have only the option of electronic voting.

b. Voters residing in Sri Lanka:

(i.) The voters residing in Sri Lanka may select the most convenient way of voting for themselves; voting either through electronic ballot or paper ballot (only one option). By taking into consideration the present pandemic situation, the voters who opted for manual voting will receive the ballot paper along with other documents via courier as decided by the CRO in consultation with the Council. On completion of marking the votes and enclosing same in the envelopes provided, the voters shall post the ballot paper or deposit the same in the ballot box kept at the IESL Secretariat before the closing time of the voting.  It is the responsibility of the individual voter to select the most appropriate method of dispatching the voting papers to be received at the Institution before the voting closing time.

(ii.) Those who do not indicate their preference will be given ONLY Electronic voting facility.

4. In accordance with voting procedure amendments, all members are requested to fill the attached form (click: https://forms.gle/BSTTiwwdEUay8FRW8 ) and upload to the web or to update the individual member profile in the IESL MIS (preferred) system before 01^st July 2021.

5. Voters who have already responded to our email communication dated 03^rd May 2021 on the subject matter may disregard this notice.
