The apex body of engineering professionals in Sri Lanka. IESL awards credentials such as the Chartered Engineer - CEng (SL), AMIE (SL) enabling one to practice as a licensed engineer in the country. We are also the sole credentialing authority of engineering degrees offered in Sri Lanka, including for the internationally recognised Washington accord. Incorporated in 1968 by the Parliament Act No.17, IESL is the largest engineers’ organization in Sri Lanka with over 20,000 members. IESL has more than 24,000 members in various membership categories, out of which a significant number of members are Young members. Young Members’ Section (YMS) of the IESL is a committee formed under the administration of Council to serve its Young Members and to extend the services provided by IESL to the Young Engineers, University Engineering undergraduates, Schools and the society.
In order to streamline and standardize the activities of the YMS, a set of guidelines had been proposed by the Executive committee of YMS and approved by the Council. These guidelines are effective from 07th May 2021.

Transfer funds to the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka Account No: 0002323113 maintained at the Torrington Square Branch of the Bank of Ceylon with the confirmation of payment received from the bank and inform us using ‘informed payment method’ of IESL MIS or via email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You may follow first 6 steps mentioned in item 2.(a) to know the outstanding amounts and respective invoices.
b. Cash/Cheque payments made directly at any branch of Bank of Ceylon to the Account No.002323113 of the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka maintained at the Torrington Square Branch of the Bank of Ceylon using the special payment slip available at the bank. A copy of the slip should be sent to us, preferably using informed payment method of MIS or via email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. along with the payment slip. You may follow first 6 steps mentioned in item 2.(a) to know the outstanding amounts and respective invoices.
c. Other Payment Methods
