What types of Engineers will we need in the future?
 
editorial Have we ever thought of the above question? At this moment, our academic institutions are thinking of increasing the intake to cater for the demands in 2020. Are we really serious about this? How many civil engineers (or for that matter engineers of other engineering disciplines too) would be required in 2020? As IESL we have to address this issue in a logical manner. Simply doubling the intake would only create job seekers if we could not address the real demand. Read more >>>

Roadway lighting standards are based almost exclusively on vehicular traffic safety considerations. Benefits of road illumination for drivers include easing of flow of traffic, reduction of night time accidents, visibility of adjacent users, and general way of finding assistance. Road lighting is used specially to highlight hazards despite the glare of headlight beams and reveal signage, in riskier environments, such as urban streets and interchanges where there are exits and entries from local roads.
