    CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

     

    3rd Annual Research Symposium of the National Water Supply & Drainage Board (NWS&DB) is scheduled to be held on 20th March, 2017 at BMICH, Colombo, Sri Lanka.

     

    Extension of Deadline for abstracts – 


    The organizing committee has decided to extend the deadline for submitting abstracts for the below symposium, until 15th December 2016, considering numerous requests made by number of authors.

    Appreciate if you could please convey this message to all to whom you have forwarded the brochure.

    Dear Members,


    PUBLISH YOUR RESEARCH IN THE ‘ENGINEER’


    ‘ENGINEER’ , the peer reviewed quarterly journal of the IESL now  gets published in the Sri Lanka Journals On Line  (SLJOL) which is a unique platform to share scientific knowledge making Sri Lankan research more available, accessible, detectible and noticeable, both nationally and internationally. At the website engineer.sljol.info  the current journal issue as well as past issues could be viewed and downloaded.


    Published since 1973, the ‘ENGINEER’ is now at a turning point in its history as efforts are underway to include it in internationally renowned citation index platforms such as Scopus and the Web of Science.


    The format and the consent form for consideration for publication in ‘ENGINEER’ can be downloaded from the website of the institution www.iesl.lk

    “Members’ Friday” at the IESL Members’ Lounge



    The IESL Council has decided to facilitate the use of its fully refurbished Members’ Lounge by its members and have declared the last Friday of every month from 6.00pm to 10.00pm, commencing from Friday the 29th July, 2016, as “Members’ Friday” dedicated to the entertainment of its members. 



    The following conditions will apply:



    1. The facility is available, free of charge, strictly for IESL members only, from 6.00pm to 10.00pm on last Friday of every month.


    2. In house music by the all-engineers music group; ‘Music Engineers’, will be available for the entertainment of members.


    3. Food and beverages are at members’ expense and could be brought either from outside or purchased from the canteen.


    4. Members are responsible to clear left over food and beverages, bags, wrappings, empty bottles, etc.


    5. The IESL Maintenance Technician, Mr. Asanka Chamara has been additionally tasked with the Caretaker’s duties at the Members’ Lounge. Members are requested to cooperate with him to ensure the smooth functioning of the Members’ Lounge


    6. Proper use of in house   tableware, plates, glasses, etc. can be arranged through the caretaker of the facility, Mr. Asanka Chamara. Replacements of any broken items will be at the cost of the member responsible for the breakage.


    7. The caretaker’s  services should not be engaged for any other purposes

    International Professional Engineers

     

    Corporate Members with the required experience can register as Professional Engineers .The IESL being a full member of the International Professional Engineers Agreement, these Professional Engineers would be identified and recognized globally as International Professional Engineers and they will be able to use the post nominal abbreviation IntPE(Sri Lanka) . The rules pertaining to the registering of Professional Engineers could be viewed here
